Kangaroo was listed in the top 100 sustainable businesses in 2016

On November 08th, at the announcement ceremony of Vietnam Sustainable Enterprise 2016, the Kangaroo Group was highly appreciated and honored in Top 100 “Vietnam Sustainable Business 2016”.

In line with the Government’s guidance in Announcement No. 398/TB-VPCP dated 15/12/2015 on sustainable business rating since 2016, the Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) with the relevant ministries and agencies to organize a program for evaluating and ranking enterprises for sustainable development for the first time in Vietnam.

 The announcement of  Vietnam Sustainable Business Council (VBCSD) rankings in conjunction with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) , The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and the State Securities Commission (SSC) with the participation of more than 250 delegates from the Government, ministries, sectors, business associations, national and international organizations.

Businesses participating in the review must meet the rigorous screening criteria of the CSI Corporate Sustainability Index. This indicator is designed as a measure of the value of an enterprise, based on criteria from production, business, administration to orientation, vision and policies for employees.

The CSI is also a tool for recording measurement objectives and managing changes to make business operations more sustainable. The survey was conducted with the participation of leading experts from Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), related ministries and agencies. economic experts at home and abroad.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong shared that the criteria for sustainable development help enterprises to systematize the determinants of their development. When the enterprise operates, it not only concerns with the profit factors but also the environmental factors such as the environment, the community in which the enterprise operates, the factors of social security improving community life and balancing the interests of the community with the interests of enterprises, the sustainable development is inevitable. Kangaroo always conceives that building a business is like building a house, solid foundation is the foundation for development. I always ask the question, Vietnam still doesn’t have the giant business, can affect the perception, the life of the majority of the world. Therefore, the development of sustainable development goals is to help Vietnam build giant enterprises.

According to Nguyen Quang Vinh, Deputy General Secretary of the VCCI and General Secretary of the Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), sustainable development has become an urgent and necessary requirement in the whole economic operation. It is also a challenge in the context of international economic integration.

The good thing is that businesses are increasingly interested in sustainable development. This shows that the awareness of sustainable development of domestic enterprises is higher than before, and enterprises are also well implementing sustainable development.
